Adapt, Not Adopt (and Ignore What’s Useless for You)

Acknowledging that success comes differently for each teacher, this site shares just a few of the documents, ideas, strategies, and resources that have proven quite effective for some teachers. It is my hope that you find something here that you can use as well. I like a motto shared at the Learning Focused site: “Adapt, not adopt.” And I would add “or ignore” to that motto for the following reasons: When collaborating, there will be really neat ideas that teachers share with each other that would not work for a particular teacher, group of students, or school. I think it’s important that as teachers we think through even the greatest sounding ideas so that we can ignore what isn’t adaptable to our specific situations.
