Comments: 8-Step Model Drawing functions as a quick introduction to bar modeling. Elementary Mathematics for Teachers goes far beyond bar modeling. When it does discuss bar modeling, though, the discussion is more in-depth than that in 8-Step Model Drawing. The applications of bar modeling go FAR beyond the two examples I provided to cover many types of word problems.
