Exercising to play and stay energized

Often I was pressed for time as a teacher. I needed to exercise, but I also need to unwind. It worked to overlap exercise with play. One way I’ve seen teachers have success in this area is by playing volleyball, softball, or basketball in a not-so-serious league (church or community).

Teachers who weren’t into team sports or didn’t have the time for them chose swimming, walking, jogging, jump roping, etc. as their solution. Personally, I have a jump rope with an accompanying DVD and CD, and I’ve noticed that having the “company” and guidance on the DVD helps me stick with it.
